Agreement to Terms
By registering for, accessing, or using Edutechia ("the Platform," "we," "us," or "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree to these terms, you may not access or use the Platform.
1. Nature of the Platform
Edutechia is a private, computer science-focused e-learning platform. We provide educational content, coding exercises, integrated development environments (IDEs), instructional videos, community forums, and AI-driven learning tools designed to enhance technical skills.
2. Eligibility
To use this Platform, you must be:
- At least [18] years of age, or the age of majority in your jurisdiction.
- If you are under the age of majority, you may only use the Platform under the direct supervision and consent of a parent or legal guardian who agrees to be bound by these Terms.
- Not barred from using the Platform under any applicable law.
3. User Accounts
- Registration: You must provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration.
- Security: You are responsible for safeguarding your password and for all activities that occur under your account. You must immediately notify us of any unauthorized use of your account.
- Account Sharing: Accounts are strictly for individual use unless explicitly authorized by us in writing. Sharing login credentials is a violation of these Terms.
4. Intellectual Property (IP) Rights
- Our Content: All content on the Platform, including but not limited to text, graphics, code snippets, video lectures, quizzes, software architecture, and the UI/UX design, is owned by or licensed to Edutechia. It is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
- Your License: We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the Platform and its content for your personal, non-commercial educational purposes.
- Restrictions: You may not copy, distribute, modify, reverse engineer, or publicly display any part of the Platform or its course materials without our express written consent.
5. User-Generated Content (UGC) & Code Submissions
- Grant of License: If you post comments in forums, submit code for review, or otherwise upload content to the Platform, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, and distribute that content solely for the purpose of operating and improving the Platform.
- Your Responsibilities: You represent and warrant that you own or control the rights to any UGC you post, and that it does not infringe on the rights of any third party.
- Code Ownership: You retain ownership of the original code you write. However, by executing code in our sandbox/IDE environments, you acknowledge that the code may interact with our systems.
6. Acceptable Use Policy & Code of Conduct
You agree NOT to:
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems, servers, or networks.
- Intentionally upload, execute, or distribute malware, ransomware, viruses, or any code designed to cause harm or disrupt services.
- Overburden our infrastructure (e.g., running infinite loops, crypto-mining) in a way that degrades the experience for other users.
- Engage in bullying, harassment, or personal attacks in the community forums.
- Submit another person's code or work as your own to bypass learning assessments.
7. Virtual Environments & Sandboxes
The Platform provides simulated computer environments for you to execute code. We do not guarantee that code executed in our sandbox will behave identically to your local machine. Code and files saved in temporary sandbox environments may be deleted periodically; you are responsible for backing up your own work.
8. AI-Driven Features and Algorithms
Edutechia utilizes artificial intelligence and machine learning algorithms to provide certain features, which may include code autocompletion, automated code reviews, AI tutoring, bug detection, and personalized learning paths. By using the Platform, you acknowledge and agree to the following regarding AI-generated outputs:
- No Guarantee of Accuracy: AI models are probabilistic and may occasionally generate incorrect, suboptimal, insecure, or outdated code and explanations (often referred to as "hallucinations"). EDUTECHIA MAKES NO WARRANTIES REGARDING THE ACCURACY, RELIABILITY, OR SAFETY OF AI-GENERATED CONTENT.
- User Responsibility for AI Output: You are solely responsible for reviewing, testing, and validating any code or technical advice generated by the AI before relying on it or integrating it into your own projects. You assume all risk for using AI-generated code.
- Usage in Assessments: While AI tools are provided as learning aids, relying entirely on AI to complete graded assessments without demonstrating personal comprehension may violate our academic integrity standards. Edutechia reserves the right to withhold a "Certificate of Competence" if it is determined that a user did not genuinely perform the required work.
- Prohibited AI Interactions: You must not attempt to "jailbreak," manipulate, or use prompt injection techniques to force the AI to bypass safety filters, generate malicious code, or reveal underlying system prompts.
- Data and AI Training: Your interactions with the AI (prompts and generated code) may be processed to improve our internal algorithms. Edutechia does not use your private code, personal data, or proprietary information to train public third-party AI models (e.g., public OpenAI or Google models).
- Ownership of AI Output: Subject to these Terms, you may use the code and text generated by our AI tools for your personal and educational projects. However, you do not acquire any ownership rights to the underlying AI models themselves.
9. Privacy
Our collection and use of personal information, including data processed by our AI algorithms, is governed by our [Privacy Policy], which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.
10. Subscriptions, Payments, and Strict No-Refund Policy
- Fees: Certain features or courses require a paid subscription. All fees are listed in [Local Currency].
- Billing: Subscriptions will automatically renew at the end of each billing cycle unless you cancel before the renewal date.
- NO REFUND POLICY: ALL PAYMENTS MADE TO EDUTECHIA ARE STRICTLY NON-REFUNDABLE. Once a subscription is purchased, a course fee is paid, or a payment is processed, no refunds will be issued under any circumstances. This includes, but is not limited to, instances of non-completion of the course, dissatisfaction with the curriculum, instructors, or AI features, account suspension due to a violation of these Terms, or failure to achieve a Certificate of Competence.
- Price Changes: We reserve the right to change our pricing with [30] days' prior notice. Price changes will not affect your current subscription period.
11. Educational Disclaimers: Curriculum, Certifications, and Employment
- Nature of Certifications: Upon successful completion of a course, Edutechia issues a "Certificate of Competence." This certificate is strictly an acknowledgment that the user has completed the specific modules and assessments provided on our platform. IT DOES NOT EQUIVALENT TO, REPLACE, OR SUBSTITUTE FOR ANY FORMAL ACADEMIC DEGREE, DIPLOMA, OR OFFICIAL ACADEMIC QUALIFICATION from a recognized university or accredited institution.
- Curriculum Design: Edutechia’s curriculum is uniquely designed in collaboration with various independent lecturers and tech industry professionals. Because our curriculum is driven by current industry practices and diverse perspectives, it may be structured significantly differently from standard academic curricula or other e-learning platforms. You acknowledge and accept this unique approach upon enrollment.
- No Guarantee of Employment: EDUTECHIA DOES NOT GUARANTEE JOB PLACEMENT, JOB SECURITY, EMPLOYMENT, SALARY INCREASES, OR CAREER ADVANCEMENT UPON COMPLETION OF ANY COURSE OR PROGRAM. The sole purpose of Edutechia is to enhance your computer science skills. Your employment prospects depend on numerous individual factors outside of our control, including your existing experience, the local job market, and employer requirements.
12. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE PLATFORM AND ALL CONTENT (INCLUDING AI-GENERATED ASSISTANCE) ARE PROVIDED ON AN “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” BASIS WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND. WE SPECIFICALLY DISCLAIM ALL IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT: (a) THE PLATFORM WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE; (b) THE RESULTS OBTAINED FROM USING THE PLATFORM WILL BE ACCURATE OR RELIABLE; OR (c) THE CURRICULUM WILL GUARANTEE MASTERY OF THE SUBJECT MATTER OR ACADEMIC CREDIT.
13. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL EDUTECHIA, ITS LECTURERS, INDUSTRY PARTNERS, EMPLOYEES, OR AFFILIATES BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR OPPORTUNITIES, RESULTING FROM YOUR USE OF THE PLATFORM, YOUR RELIANCE ON AI-GENERATED CODE, YOUR INABILITY TO SECURE EMPLOYMENT, OR YOUR RELIANCE ON THE CURRICULUM OR CERTIFICATES OF COMPETENCE.
14. Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason, including a breach of these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Platform will immediately cease, and no refunds will be provided for any unused portion of your subscription.
15. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Edutechia and its officers, directors, lecturers, and industry partners from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses arising out of or in any way connected with your access to or use of the Platform, your misuse of AI tools, or your violation of these Terms.
16. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify or replace these Terms at any time. If a revision is material, we will try to provide at least [30] days' prior notice. By continuing to access or use our Platform after those revisions become effective, you agree to be bound by the revised terms.
